This is a depiction of a famous bird of Australia. They are often referred to as the "Laughing Kookaburra" but as you can see this one is only smiling. The laughing refers to the Kookaburra's call which resembles someone laughing (almost demonically)
About Anne Gardner
I live in the South East of Australia, in the beautiful Shoalhaven, where I find inspiration for my landscapes; with beaches, farmlands, mountains, valleys and bush all within easy reach. I like to vary my work and have also painted portraits, seascapes and some abstracts. My main medium is acrylic but I have become proficient in watercolour. I have won prizes in various art contests and have sold work in exhibitions in the local area, and have also sold internationally to New Zealand, the USA and Great Britain.
